    The Wimbledon Window

A hand-painted shopfront on Wimbledon high street, a can with a backhand, and a mushroom in a sun hat.

Tennis fortnight turns Wimbledon village into a very specific kind of crowd: strawberries, queueing, and about two weeks of the whole world walking down one street. So we took over a window on Church Road with @megiwellness and @organic_masters_, and handed the glass to the artist @samtmart.

Painted by hand, on the glass

Sam painted the whole scene directly onto the shopfront: a Liquid FOCUS can with arms and a racket, a MEGI Wellness bottle returning serve across the net, botanical mushrooms growing up through the baseline, and Stress-you-40 in script across the top. It took a day, it was gone at the end of the summer, and that is rather the point of a window.

    Good company

MEGI Wellness on haircare, Organic Masters on the shop floor, us on the drinks, and a seven-foot fly agaric doing crowd work outside. Passers-by got a cold Liquid FOCUS, a look at the painting, and a conversation about lion's mane they had not planned on having that morning.

Small activations like this are the cheapest research we do. Stand on a pavement for a day, hand somebody a can, and watch their face. It tells you more than a survey.

    EVERY SUNDAY MORNING.

A ritual, a recipe or something we've learned in the undergrowth, plus first dibs on new pours and stockist news. No noise, ever.
